Lecture by Martin Dostal, local chronicler and tour guide Heiligendamm was the first German seaside resort, was a stately residence, but also "the Führer's favorite seaside resort" and was to become the site of an elite school.
The foundation stone was laid on January 15, 1938, but the building was never completed. A dense forest has long since grown over the building pits. But traces can still be found today - such as mounds, remains of walls, foundation stones and bomb craters.
The eventful history of this site continues to arouse public interest. The years of inglorious rule in Heiligendamm should not be concealed, but named and dealt with.
In his lecture, local chronicler and tour guide Martin Dostal will talk about the historical eras of the first German seaside resort, including the period of the 1930s and 1940s in Heiligendamm.
Interested guests are cordially invited to this lecture with a picture presentation.
The lecture will be followed by a special guided tour of Heiligendamm on April 25, 2026.
