Historical park tour in the Rhododendron Park
Saturday, June 16, 2026 - Meeting point: Graal-Müritz local history museum, Parkstraße 21
- free of charge -
The Rhododendron Park is one of the largest of its kind in Germany - and one of the least known in its history. Between 1955 and 1961, the Rostock garden architect Friedrich-Karl Evert created a 4.5-hectare park with around 2,500 plants from around 60 different hybrids on the site of a former sand pit. The park has been a listed building since 1986.
On the occasion of the Rhododendron Park Festival 2026, Torsten Maaß will guide you through the history of the park - from its origins to the renovation from 2005 to 2007 and the significance of the park for Graal-Müritz today. The tour takes place in cooperation with the local history museum.
