For the fourth time, the Edvard Munch House is inviting female artists to show contemporary printmaking positions in the context of the Day of Printmaking.
This year's exhibition format "hoch_tief_flach_durch - druckgrafische Positionen IV" presents works by the artists Andrea Ackermann, Rita Lass and Ellen Möckel under the title Im offenen Blau .
The selected artists work with different techniques and translate independent artistic perspectives and attitudes into imprints, traces and repetitions. Im offenen Blau is intended as a broad space for thought. The sea forms an anchor in terms of content - as a pictorial motif, a cultural resonance space, a marine habitat and a sensitive ecosystem. The open blue also stands for horizon, distance, transitions and intermediate spaces - atmospheric, political, emotional. It can mean depth or emptiness, longing or threat, memory or possibility. In the printed works, the open blue can be concrete and abstract, scenic and metaphorical, material, processual and conceptual.
