In the early 1980s, a woman strolls through East Berlin after work because, for once, she doesn’t want to be the first one home.
In Moscow, a writer is tasked with profiling the prima ballerina Ulanova; she waits for days for a meeting and then experiences something unexpected. A child takes its first breath; a grandmother takes her last. And a middle-aged woman tries to come to terms with a cancer diagnosis.
