THEATER MARGINAL FIGURE
HEIN HANNEMANN
Theater play with characters
about old childhood days, friendship, joie de vivre and the great flood
for adults and young people aged 11 and over
HEIN HANNEMANN grows up around 1900 as a "Rostock boy" between the quayside and his parents' trading company with a good dose of courage and a thirst for adventure. In the meantime, he has grown up and gone to sea - just like his grandfather, the pilot commander from Warnemünde. Now and again, letters from overseas reach his parents' house and Hein's friend Jochen. This is a good moment for Mother Hannemann and Jochen to remember all the stories from his childhood and youth and to bring many an experience back to life.
The play was created using a process-based approach. The Hannemanns' store becomes a place of adventure in a play that combines acting, storytelling, puppetry and live percussion. Some of the characters speak in Low German.
