Jana leaves the city with her husband and children to start a new, quieter life in the countryside. She is pregnant again, professionally disoriented and hopes for stability and a sense of belonging in the rural idyll. However, she soon realizes that the community that awaits her there is not simply traditional, but is shaped by a strictly conservative, sometimes reactionary world view.
The focus is particularly on Karolin, the perfect neighbor: pretty, always well-dressed, caring - and at the same time a "Tradwife" influencer who propagates an ideal image of femininity, naturalness and subordination to family values online. Jana is attracted to Karolin's self-assurance and clear life model. While she herself wavers between motherhood, self-realization and social expectations, Karolin seems to have answers that Jana has never found.
But the closer Jana gets to this woman and her world, the clearer it becomes to her how rigid and exclusive the underlying system is. A growing tension arises between the idyllic surface and subliminal ideology: what does "home" mean when it is based on conformity, control and role models that leave little room for individuality? And why does this world nevertheless seem so seductive?
