The Berlin duo "Liquid Soul" presents meditative music with water organ, aquarion, sheng and other rare instruments
Concert with Gert Anklam (saxophones, water organ, aquarion) and Beate Gatscha (water organ, hang, gong, aquarion)
"Together they form a duo that is predestined for all kinds of sound art." (FAZ)
Water - the artists owe their musical inspiration, which they express in their compositions, to this everyday symbol of life. Music for the flowing soul.... At the heart of the Berlin artists' concert is the Wasserstich organ - a musical and instrumental novelty developed by Anklam and Gatscha themselves. The technical forerunner of this unusual instrument is the well pipe, which was once used to measure the groundwater level in waterworks. They also play other rare instruments such as the Swiss Hang, the Chinese mouth organ Sheng and the glass Aquarion. Gert Anklam and Beate Gatscha have been working continuously on joint musical projects since 1997. Concerts and study visits have taken them to many countries around the world, including India, Japan, China, Tanzania, South Africa, Indonesia and North America. They have worked with musicians, dancers and artists from these countries and organized a series of major intercultural projects. It is "music that set out to teach wonder."
Liquid Soul has released 3 CDs with various guest musicians, with whom they also perform together in larger programs. Further information and references can be found at: www.liquid-soul.de
