A Sound Experience with Gongs
Gong Meditation to Mark the Beginning of Fall
with Christine Simon
Since time immemorial, the gong has been a symbol of infinity. Its sound touches everyone who hears it in a special way, and its liberating power reaches deep into both the physical and emotional realms. Used for healing in some cultures and often celebrated in poetry, its form and sound evoke something primal that is likely inherent in all of us. On these evenings, the gongs in the Klanghaus resonate with their diverse, wondrous timbres. Their flowing sounds speak to the essence of nature as well as to the spiritual qualities associated with them.
Gong meditation invites you on a journey through the diversity of gong sounds and, at the same time, through the many levels of nature—both your own and the nature that surrounds all of humanity. Monochord sounds and intuitive music played on deep flutes accompany the intervals between the gongs representing the Five Elements: Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and the Cosmos.
Christine Simon, gong,
