Island Intermezzi Summit sounds - great moments of chamber music Chamber music by the sea
As in previous years, the Insel Intermezzi - Kammermusik am Meer festival culminates in a concert at the Putbus Theater.
An evening-long concert awaits you, in which almost all the musicians of the festival present themselves and perform great moments of chamber music full of youthful verve, but also compositional maturity.
Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, in particular, was still a very young pianist when he composed his Piano Quartets op. 1-3 at the age of 14, but was already considered one of the best pianists of his time.
Johannes Brahms was also only 20 years old when he composed his Piano Trio No. 1 and was bursting with ideas. In his later years, however, he found it overloaded and made a comprehensive revision 34 years later, which can be heard in this concerto.
In contrast to these two youthful works is the Kegelstatt Trio by the then 30-year-old Mozart. Although still young, it is considered one of his more mature works and is characterized by "rapid changes of emotion and the quiet harmony of its performers "*. It is also the first work of its kind to be scored for clarinet, viola and piano.
