Library Night on October 10
On Saturday, October 10, the City Library will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. for the long-awaited Library Night. The event will be officially opened at 6:00 p.m. by Senator René Domke and the drama group from the District Music School.
Guests of all ages can look forward to a colorful program that spans the entire building—from the attic to the ground floor. Under the theme “From Cuneiform to AI,” the Children’s Library invites visitors to explore: Here, young guests can learn exciting facts about the history of writing, test their knowledge through games, and enjoy a picture-book cinema.
Numerous partners are helping to shape the evening: Schabbell, the City Archives, PhanTECHNIKUM, the DRK Media Workshop, and three creative artists will entertain the children and enrich the program for all ages.
As always, the popular book buy-and-swap event will be set up. For adults, there will be a quiz with attractive book vouchers as prizes, which will be raffled off at the closing event in the courtyard. There, the Ladies in Line will create a spine-tingling atmosphere with a rousing dance performance.
Refreshments will also be provided: The Library Association will treat guests to food and drinks.
Due to the extensive renovation work required, the library will close early on October 10 at 4:00 p.m. and then open its doors at 5:30 p.m. for the “Library Night” adventure.
