Simple city tour of Bad Doberan without guided tour of the cathedral
The only guided tour of Bad Doberan takes place every Friday during the season and focuses not on the monastery but on the Grand Ducal summer residence. The tour starts in Mollistraße at the tourist information office right next to the Molli train track.
As in the old days, the tour takes you across the Kamp with its two Chinese-style pavilions to the Grand Ducal buildings: the Grand Ducal Palace as the residence, the Grand Ducal Salon as the tourist center of the summer residence and the Friedrich-Franz-Palais as the oldest hotel on the Baltic Sea can all be admired here.
Right next door is the imposing grammar school with the rector's house, the historic post office in neo-Gothic style and the Prinzenpalais with its special history, which leads through the palace garden to the monastery with the cathedral in the center. Of course, you will also get all the important information about this part of Bad Doberan as you walk around the monastery church - even if it is not the focus of attention on this day.
