Trout and other quintets - with Yuko Ellinger, Matthias Ellinger, Maria Schöne, Andrea Häfer, Karsten Lauke
On May 8, 2026 at 7 pm, the audience can look forward to a top-class chamber music evening in the Brigitte Feldtmann Hall with two outstanding works from the 19th century at the fourth concert in the popular KON-Takte series at the Schwerin Conservatory.
The focus will be on George Onslow's Piano Quintet in G major op. 76 and Franz Schubert's famous Trout Quintet in A major D 667. Both compositions are characterized by their unusual instrumentation and thus unfold a special tonal diversity. Renowned artists from the Staatskapelle and the Schwerin Conservatory will perform: Yuko Ellinger (piano), Matthias Ellinger (violin), Maria Schöne (viola), Andrea Häfer (violoncello) and Karsten Lauke (double bass). This rare combination lends the works an extraordinary depth and color.
George Onslow, often referred to as the "French Beethoven", has created a work of almost symphonic dimensions with his piano quintet. The finale "Le coup de vent" ("The Gust of Wind") is particularly impressive with its rousing energy and dynamics.
After the interval, Franz Schubert's Trout Quintet is one of the most popular works of chamber music. Composed in 1819 during a summer sojourn in Upper Austria, it continues to inspire to this day with its sparkling joie de vivre, lightness and melodic ingenuity.
The "Kreislaufhelden" team will provide suitable culinary accompaniment before the event and during the interval.
Admission to the event costs 12 euros, concessions 8 euros. Tickets can be reserved directly at the conservatory by emailing Daniela Semlow at dsemlow@schwerin.de.
Access to the Brigitte Feldtmann Hall is barrier-free.
