Gertraude Bauer, sculpture and Paul Torsten Hahn, painting/graphics
The joint exhibition of the sculptor Gertraude Bauer and the painter and graphic artist Paul Torsten Hahn brings together sculptures made of sandstone as well as graphics, drawings and paintings - works of an oscillating conversation between the three-dimensionality of the stone and the illusion of the surface on canvas and paper.
Both works focus on the human figure - the human being as the occasion, origin and resonance space of artistic expression, even where it is only present as a premonition. The interfaces between the works of Gertraude Bauer and Paul Torsten Hahn can be found in the reduction, alienation and dissolution of the figure. In their similarities and differences, the exhibited works are an expression of an exciting process of searching and questioning and lead to a new freedom of seeing.
We cordially invite you to the vernissage on February 21, 2026 at 3 pm. The special exhibition can then be viewed during regular opening hours until May 30, 2026.
