We’re all familiar with the Mediterranean: long beaches, deep-blue water, picturesque coastlines and cities. But beneath the surface lies a unique, endangered ecosystem. Marine biologist Uli Kunz joins researchers to study the ocean’s largest inhabitants, the fin whales, dives into species-rich underwater landscapes, and explores ancient seagrass beds around the Balearic Islands. Beauty, diversity, and threat coexist here in close proximity.
