After the brilliant start in 2023, the motto on July 4, 2026 in Barth is: "Taurus meets griffin. State history at your fingertips!" Experience history up close at the 2nd Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State History Festival. From 10 am to 6 pm, the historical ensemble around the Papenhof will be transformed into a lively marketplace for museums, archives and associations. You can look forward to exciting lectures, panel discussions and hands-on activities for the whole family. Save the date now and rediscover the history of MV!

After the great success of the first Regional History Festival 2023 in Ribnitz-Damgarten, the next round is about to begin: The Regional History Round Table invites you to the 2nd Regional History Festival on Saturday, July 4, 2026 - this time in Barth.

Under the motto "Bull meets griffin. Landesgeschicht tau'n Anfaten!", committed people from museums, archives, associations, local history centers, libraries, memorials and research institutions will once again come together to make the history and culture of our country visible, tangible and alive. The festival sees itself as an open forum for exchange, encounters and shared learning - and invites everyone who is interested in the history of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

You can look forward to a varied program with lectures, a panel discussion, a staged reading and a "market of opportunities" where initiatives, associations and projects will present themselves - in keeping with the festival motto: discovering history(ies) and shaping the future together.

The event offers space to present your own projects, contribute ideas or simply get into conversation with other interested parties. All those who are active in regional and cultural history, whether full-time or on a voluntary basis, as researchers, club members, local historians or operators of local history museums, are cordially invited to take part.

The festival takes place from 10 am to 6 pm in the historic ensemble of the Bürgerhaus, Papenhof and its garden, St. Mary's Church and Bogislaw Square. Food and drink will be provided; children can look forward to an exciting hands-on activity offered by the Barth Bible Center.

If you would like to take part with your own stand, you can register by April 15, 2026 at
