Transformation concert in the former Stasi prison
The former Palace of Justice at 106 Obotritenring in Schwerin became a place of arbitrariness, terror and fear in 1933 and remained so after 1945, as the Soviet military administration and the GDR state security established their remand prisons in the building. When the writer Walter Kempowski was arrested in March 1948, he was brought here. He later wrote about his ordeal behind these walls. Today's concert with musicians from ensemble reflektor and texts by Kempowski explores what is now the country's documentation center for the victims of dictatorships in Germany.
