For the second time, visitors can sample delicious Fairtrade products while enjoying live music at the “FAIRkostung” event at the Schelfkirche, on the corner of Puschkinstraße, and learn more about Fair Trade.
For the second time, visitors can sample delicious Fairtrade products at the “FAIRkostung” on the lawn in front of the Schelfkirche at the corner of Puschkinstraße.
The “FAIRkostung” is organized by the action group Eine Welt e.V. Schwerin | Weltladen Schwerin and the State capital Schwerin, together with other partner initiatives.
The event features Fairtrade snacks, sweets, and spreads, as well as delicious Fairtrade orange juice and Fairtrade coffee. There will also be live music and information for those interested.
The State capital Schwerin has held the title of “Fairtrade City” for 13 years. It is thus part of a network of more than 900 Fairtrade municipalities in Germany. The Weltladen, located on Puschkinstraße, has been offering numerous fair-trade products and foods since 1991.
“With the FAIRkostung, we as a Fairtrade City want to highlight that sustainable and fair consumption is possible. This family-friendly event in the heart of Schelfstadt is the perfect setting for this. The residents of Schwerin are cordially invited,” says Mayor Sebastian Ehlers, who will open the event.
Accompanied by live music, the Weltladen, BUNDjugend MV, unity for change Ghana e.V., and Oikocredit’s Northern Germany Support Group will provide information about their causes at their own booths. There will also be hands-on activities and games for all ages.
As was the case last year, a visit to “FAIRkostung” can be perfectly combined with a stroll through the Hofflohmarktfestival, which is also taking place on Saturday at numerous locations throughout the city.
The event will take place on the lawns in front of the church.
