Fabian Simon will be a guest at the Rosengarten as Sing a Songwriter with his solo program.

His music is somewhere between folk song and art song, psychedelia and Hamburg School and sounds as if we are moving through a fictitious past. Subtle, witty, poetic and always surprising. Sometimes with a brittle timbre, sometimes with impulsive emotion, his songs tell of love, death and the absurd in-between in beautifully wry images. For his concert in the vicarage, he plays an unusual program of old and new songs. Rumor has it that he will be bringing his beloved electric guitar and a veteran tape machine ...

Fabian Simon studied cultural studies, musicology and philosophy. He has been singing and playing his way through the German indie scene in solo and band constellations since 2009. With his backing band The Moon Machine, he has released three albums on the Berlin indie label Listenrecords. As a guest musician and writer, he has contributed to albums by German poet Tristan Brusch and Americana prophet Adam Arcuragi. When the multi-instrumentalist is not on tour, he composes and performs music for film and theater (e.g. Schauspiel Hannover, Theater Basel, Stadttheater Ingolstadt). In addition to music, he writes prose and poetry.
