The exhibition "Strich durch die Linie" by Ruzica Zajec sheds light on the ambiguity of the line as a central means of expression in art. An exciting interplay of form, structure and transgression is created between order and departure.
The exhibition "Strich durch die Linie" by Ruzica Zajec is dedicated to the line as one of the most original and at the same time most complex means of expression in art. From February 1 to April 18, 2026, the artist will be showing works in which the line appears not only as a limiting or structuring element, but also as a trace of movement, an expression of freedom and a sign of transgression.
Ruzica Zajec explores the relationship between order and openness with a keen sense of rhythm, rupture and tension. Her works allow lines to clash, overlap or deliberately run into the void - creating compositions that balance between control and chance, clarity and emotion.
The exhibition invites visitors to understand the "stroke through the line" as an artistic gesture of questioning - as an invitation to see the familiar anew and to dissolve boundaries in thinking and seeing.
