Director Dr. Pirko Kristin Zinnow welcomes you. After a short introduction, curator Antje Marthe Fischer will guide you through the exhibition.
The 19th century was the age of technical inventions and also opened up completely new possibilities in glass production. Both the courts and the bourgeoisie were fascinated by the rich color spectrum of the material. As a result, colored glass art displaced transparent, clear glass from the market. Its magical attraction is as great today as it was then.
The cabinet exhibition is part of the series "The Special Format" and shows a selection of the most precious pieces of glass art from the extensive collection of the Staatliches Museum Schwerin.
