Til Mette, born in Bielefeld in 1956, studied history and art in Bremen from 1980 to 1985. Since 1996, Til Mette's cartoons have been appearing every week in the magazine stern to get to the heart of life's absurdities. He has won numerous prizes such as the German Cartoon Prize in bronze and gold, first place at the German Cartoon Prize, the German Prize for Political Cartooning in 2015 and the Thomas Nast Prize in 2022. In 2025, Til Mette took part in the exhibition "Was für ein Volk" on the occasion of the Schwerin Caricature Prize for the Day of German Unity and was honored with the jury prize. The current exhibition presents the best of his work, including original drawings and paintings.
