Exhibition opening at the Wolgast City History Museum 1926 from 16.07.26 19.00
Alcohol smuggling along the Pomeranian coast In 1926, a spectacular court case takes place in Berlin. At the center is a ring of alcohol smugglers whose network stretches from distilleries in Poland via Gdansk and smuggling routes along the Baltic coast to Szczecin and Berlin. Places such as Swinemünde, Freest and the waters off the Pomeranian coast also play a role in this extraordinary criminal case. The exhibition sheds light on the players, methods and backgrounds of alcohol smuggling. It tells of smugglers, authorities and the economic conditions of the Weimar Republic - between party frenzy and economic crisis, state regulation and the temptations of fast money
. the exhibition is on display until October 31 and can be visited Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm.
