BlackBox Gallery

In the 3rd group exhibition since the opening of Galerie BlackBox in 2013, 10 artists from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Berlin will be represented: Dieter Goltzsche, Doris Leue and Ingmar Bruhn with drawings, Jörg-Uwe Jacob, Eva Niemann, Volker Henze and Wolfgang Reinke with paintings, Kerstin Seidel and Reinhard Buch with sculptures and Eddie Bonesire with photography. The title "La Mer" is obvious - only about 6km from the exhibition venue, it shapes the landscape, light and people, sometimes devouring them if its temperament gets the better of it or if it is underestimated. It has fascinated writers, musicians and artists since time immemorial. The aim of this exhibition cannot be to orchestrate the works on display. When selecting the works on display, the curator and gallery owner wanted to approach the diversity of the sea from different perspectives and disciplines. The fact that this exhibition nevertheless develops a common tone and immerses us, the viewer, is the challenge and the message in turbulent times: Empathy instead of cacophony.
