The traveling exhibition conceived by the SOROPTIMIST Club Island of Rügen portrays ten women who shaped their time with courage, talent and civil courage. Shown throughout the island, it makes female history visible - also during the Women's Day week on Mönchgut.
This touring exhibition was conceived to showcase the island's extraordinary female personalities and pay tribute to their life's achievements. The exhibition will be shown at various locations on the Island of Rügen, including as part of the Women's Day week in the Baltic resort of Baabe.
The focus is on ten women from different centuries and walks of life. They differed in origin, social status and sphere of influence - some were influential and well-known, others worked more in secret. What they all have in common is that they crossed the boundaries of their time with courage, talent, civil courage and great humanity and left a lasting mark on Rügen.
