Discussion evening
What gaps exist in research on women in state and post-socialism - and why? The roundtable aims to get academics and guests talking about blind spots in gender history, old patterns of interpretation and new questions. The focus will be on methodological challenges as well as the political implications of historical narratives about women under socialism and afterwards.
Speakers: Dr. Jessica Bock (Digital German Women's Archive), Dr. Steffi Brüning (Documentation and Memorial Site in the Former State Security Detention Centre Rostock), Dr. Stefanie Eisenhuth (Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam), Dr. Teresa Tammer (Deputy Saxon State Commissioner for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship)
