Democracy in the Savannah? That’s something you have to learn, too—A funny and colorful picture book about freedom, fairness, and self-determination
The lion is a true leader. With his mighty roar, he keeps order in the savanna. But one day, he becomes so hoarse that he can’t make a sound. Chaos breaks out immediately! Everyone does whatever they want, and many of them argue. Even the animals realize this can’t go on. They need fair rules. Not so easy when there’s no longer a leader. But together, they come up with lots of great ideas and find truly fair rules for EVERYONE!
Come by on November 10, 2026, at 4 p.m. for our picture book theater for children ages 4 and up, and hear a story that shows how peaceful coexistence can work.
