IIt's blues time: musicians from the international blues scene will be visiting Binz this year from 11 to 14 June for the multi-award-winning Blue Wave Festival Binz. Plucking, drumming and singing in many places will make New Orleans pale with envy.
A special highlight are the "Pink Piano" concerts on the Kurplatz, with musicians as soloists or in bands - an experience not only for blues connoisseurs.
EB DAVIS & THE SUPERBAND (USA, DEU)
When EB Davis takes to the stage, the blues comes alive. With his unmistakable voice, charismatic presence and a groove that immediately gets into your heart and legs, the Arkansas-born singer and entertainer has been thrilling audiences around the globe for over five decades.
In 2008, he was awarded the official title of "Blues Ambassador to the State of Arkansas", and the German Rock and Pop Music Association named him Best R&B Singer in the same year.
The documentary film "How Berlin got the Blues", released in 2017, tells EB's fascinating story. His musical journey took him from the roots of the blues in Memphis in the 1960s via New York, where he performed with stars such as B.B. King, Wilson Pickett, Isaac Hayes and Millie Jackson - to Berlin, where he founded his international superband in the 1990s.
The seven-piece formation stands for rousing blues, soul and R&B - groovy original compositions, soulful ballads and pure joy of playing.
