Staged Reading: Culture Under Influence

How free is art? Under what conditions were art and culture possible under the leadership of the SED? How did control and influence affect artistic practice? Through what (artistic) means was resistance possible?

The staged reading weaves together historical material, personal accounts from eyewitnesses, and literary texts into a collage that reveals the paradoxes and complexity of creative work in the GDR.
