The "Galenbecker See" nature reserve is one of the oldest nature reserves in Germany and is known as an internationally important resting place for cranes. In October, numerous "lucky birds" stop off in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern before continuing their flight south.
Watch the approach of the cranes with us at Lake Galenbeck.
Procedure: At the meeting point, we will introduce the project and the surrounding area and tell you lots of interesting facts about cranes. We continue by car to the observation tower near Heinrichswalde on the eastern shore of the lake, where we can observe the cranes in their roosting place if conditions are good. Here you are very close to the sleeping cranes, about 200 meters.
Date: Saturday, October 4, 2025 from approx. 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
The event takes place in all weathers and lasts approx. 2 to 3 hours. Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather.
