A city tour as a scavenger hunt on your phone: Follow the compass and solve a riddle at each stop. Go at your own pace, with no set start time—perfect for fall break. The first three stops are free.
With CityWalkGems, you can explore Schwerin at your own pace, as if it were a game. Your cell phone is your guide: A compass points the way to the next stop, so you can look at the city instead of a map. At each stop, you’ll read or listen to the history of the location and solve a puzzle that can only be solved on-site. Those who complete the tour will receive a badge and a certificate.
The tour has 12 stops and is about 3.1 km long; allow one and a half to two hours. You can start at any stop. You can take breaks at any time. Ideal for families with children, couples, and friends—even during fall break—with no set start time and no group.
The first three stops are free; the entire tour starts at €6.49 per group (purchased in advance; €9.99 on-site).
The game is played in your phone’s browser—no account required—or in the CityWalkGems app (Google Play). Available in eight languages, including German and English.
Schwerin’s residential complex, including Schwerin Castle, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2024; the route leads from Pfaffenteich across the market square to Schwerin Castle and the castle gardens.
