The 12th German-Polish Speech, which traditionally closes the annual polenmARkT festival, will be given this year by Heiko Miraß, Parliamentary State Secretary for Vorpommern and Eastern Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Miraß, a politician and economics graduate born in Greifswald, has been in his current position since November 2021 and has extensive professional experience that makes him particularly qualified for German-Polish cooperation. He is responsible for the development of the border region and is committed to promoting relations between the two countries.
In his speech, Miraß will focus in particular on the current status and future of cooperative relations between Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the partner voivodeships in the Republic of Poland. The potential for improving the living situation on both the German and Polish sides, but also the challenges of closer coordination and cooperation in the Szczecin metropolitan region will be highlighted.
Through his coordinating role in the state government of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Miraß has a multi-layered and comprehensive insight into this subject area.
