From November 1 to 30, 2026, the Stralsund City Library will host the exhibition “Zwiegespräch,” featuring works by artists Sabine Neumann and Kathrin Schellong-Buxot, who each explore the interplay of text, color, and form in their own unique ways.
The exhibition focuses on the artistic dialogue between Sabine Neumann’s calligraphy and Kathrin Schellong-Buxot’s landscape-inspired and abstract acrylic paintings. Artfully crafted calligraphy and expressive painting come together in a colorful interplay.
The exhibition can be viewed free of charge in the event basement from November 1 through 30 during the city library’s opening hours.
About the Artists
Sabine Neumann, born in 1961, has lived in Stralsund since 1994. She discovered calligraphy through a friend and deepened her knowledge through workshops and by exploring various typefaces. In her work, she combines lettering and design to create expressive typographic compositions. Her works have been featured in various thematic group exhibitions, most recently at St. Nikolai Church in Stralsund on the occasion of its 750th anniversary.
Kathrin Schellong-Buxot, born in Münster in 1963, has lived in Stralsund since 1994. A trained music educator, she devotes herself to painting and experiments with paints she mixes herself, various materials, and textured surfaces. She finds inspiration for her landscape-based and abstract acrylic paintings particularly in Stralsund’s old town and the coastal landscape.
