On Sunday, April 12, 2026, the Open Monastery Day will take place for the fourth time in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Experience with "Kloster ganz nah" how the centuries-old buildings have been preserved as historical monuments and can be lively meeting centers today. The town museum in the former "Noble Convent" is once again taking part in this special event! The history of the Bergen nunnery, from its beginnings in 1193 to its transformation into a Protestant convent in the 16th century and its dissolution in 1945, is the subject of the permanent exhibition. At the same time, the medieval cloth, richly embroidered with linen and silk, with its narrative scenes, invites you to marvel and pause!
At 11 a.m., Bergen artist Katrin Nülken will give an informal guided tour of the photo exhibition "Nature is painting - made of stone". In a personal exchange, she shares her fascination for stones and opens up new perspectives on their hidden beauty.
