On Open Gardens Day, the Barth Bible Center cordially invites you to discover the Bible and Rose Garden at your leisure. The garden is open from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and from 12 pm to 5 pm on Sunday. During this time, visitors can stroll freely through the lovingly designed gardens and marvel at the variety of plants. Over a cup of tea, visitors can enjoy the atmosphere, smell the scents of the roses and take in the tranquillity of the garden.
The Bible Garden displays around 150 different plants that are mentioned in the Bible or have a special symbolic meaning. Each plant tells its own story, be it in terms of culture, history or symbolism. The garden is complemented by the rose garden, in which numerous types of roses grow whose names refer to historical figures, traditions and biblical motifs. The careful design invites you to discover something new at every step and to sharpen your eye for the details of nature.
For anyone who would like to learn more about the plants and their background, a guided tour of the Bible and Rose Garden takes place at 3 pm. The expert guide provides insights into the meaning of the plants, tells exciting anecdotes and explains how plants, names and stories are connected.
Between the tours, the garden also offers space to linger: Visitors can enjoy the atmosphere over a cup of tea, smell the scents of the roses and take in the tranquillity of the garden. The Open Gardens Day is a wonderful opportunity to combine nature, culture and history and to experience the Bible and Rose Garden in all its facets - for people of all ages and interests.
