At the start of the vacations, the zoo invites families to rediscover the local animal world - with hands-on activities, exciting information and a guided tour about species conservation.
The "Biodiversity Day" marks the start of the Whitsun weekend and is particularly aimed at families with children. At the animal rescue stand, young visitors can get creative, paint stones and learn more about wolves, hedgehogs and squirrels in a fun way. Those who want to delve deeper can join the biodiversity tour at 12:45 pm and discover together with the zoo educator how closely native and exotic habitats are connected. It becomes clear that species conservation often starts right on your own doorstep. At the zoo gardener's stand, there will be practical tips on nesting aids that can also be implemented in your own garden - including the opportunity to build your own nesting box. The program is rounded off by the animal show on the festival meadow and other activities in the riding circle.
