On January 27, 2026, the nationwide day of remembrance for the victims of National Socialism, the Mecklenburg Switzerland Regional Alliance cordially invites you to a public commemoration event in Malchin. As part of the event, a memorial plaque will be ceremonially unveiled at the Malchin Jewish cemetery at 3.00 pm. The Jewish cemetery is located at the end of Fabrikstraße.
The memorial plaque is intended to commemorate the Jewish citizens of Malchin who were victims of persecution, disenfranchisement and murder during the National Socialist era. At the same time, the regional alliance is sending a visible signal against forgetting and for responsibility, remembrance and humanity.
The event is open to the public and all citizens and representatives from politics, the church, culture, associations and the press are cordially invited to pause together and commemorate the victims.

The regional alliance asks for dignified participation. Men are asked to wear a head covering. Stones for the commemoration of the dead instead of flowers.
