(The Red Onion – based on a Romanian fairy tale)
A powerful king is said to have had a child born from an onion! From a red onion! And despite this miracle, he didn’t want the child because—well, because it was a GIRL. Can you believe it?! But the king’s daughter, Danila, is stubborn, strong, brave, and full of life—she won’t let anyone get her down. In secret, she learns all the skills that were reserved only for boys back then: thinking, fighting, and riding. And when a fearsome dragon threatens people and animals, trees and grass, she’s there to save the day. Riding her faithful steed Goldschweif, she battles the Sun Thief—but without the help of the fairies from the Forest Lake, the two of them would likely never have managed to free the sun from the dragon’s lair and thus save the land from cold and darkness. Told in an exciting and empathetic way, featuring many musical instruments, by actress Claudia Maria Franck.
Admission is free for young visitors.
