At the Harvest Festival at AGRONEUM Alt Schwerin, everything on the large outdoor grounds revolves around the beloved tuber—the potato. In the morning, it’s time for the potato harvest. This is demonstrated using traditional methods. Pulled by workhorses, the potato harvester flings the crop out of the ground, and then it’s time for everyone to pitch in and gather them up! It’s great fun that gets all visitors in the mood for the many other activities of the day. Potato-throwing contests, sack races, and several other events await all Potato Rally participants. Things get colorful and creative in the potato-printing workshop. And of course, the selection of popular potato dishes is varied and, above all, delicious! A highlight of the annual harvest festival is the colorful parade featuring horses, a decorated harvest wagon, and rumbling tractors.
