Once upon a time there was a boy who loved to laze around and sleep, his greatest pleasure was to annoy others and do something wrong. The animals on the farm in particular suffered because of him. One Sunday morning, when he annoyed an elf, he was turned into a little thumbelina as punishment. Suddenly he understands the language of the animals and Martin the gander takes him on an adventurous journey with the wild geese. Little by little, tiny Nils experiences what real friendship and caring for others
feels like - he returns from this journey much wiser and richer.
