In this workshop, flat pictures are made with felting wool by wet felting.
Would you like to create art in a completely new, tangible way? In this workshop, you will create beautiful, two-dimensional pictures - not with brushes and paint, but with soft, colorful felting wool using the fascinating technique of wet felting!
Before you get down to the wool, you'll get some real artist inspiration: together with course instructor Anett Zeplin, you'll first take an exciting little tour of the exhibitions at the Ahrenshoop Art Museum. There you will take a closer look at selected works of art. Let yourself be inspired by the bright colors, exciting shapes and diverse motifs of the paintings! You then take all these impressions back to the workshop to incorporate the ideas into your own personal work of art.
In wet felting, you lay out the wool layer by layer and work it with soap and water. The special thing about it: similar to how the colors gently flow into each other in watercolor painting, this felting technique can also be used to achieve wonderful, soft color gradients and painterly effects. Whether you already have experience or have never felted before - you are very welcome!
You need absolutely no previous knowledge for this course, Anett Zeplin will show you step by step how it works. The workshop is a great experience for creative minds of all ages and is aimed at children aged 8 and over as well as adults.
