Prof. Dr. Holger Kersten of the Institute for Experimental and Applied Physics at the University of Kiel Visits Griebenow Castle
How do you find your way around the night sky? What’s the story behind the often
imaginative names of the constellations? Where do the various
names, and where and when can you see this or that constellation
see this or that constellation particularly well? What interesting objects are there in each constellation,
and how can you observe them?
These and other questions are the focus of this lecture, which
most well-known constellations will be introduced. Fun facts and curiosities about the
starry sky are presented in an entertaining way.
If the weather is clear, we’ll then go out to observe some constellations “live” in the sky
.
