Spa concert with "Hot wires" - guitar pop ensemble
Guitars… and pop… and orchestra
… that’s the “Heiße Drähte.” With “Rock Around the Clock” and “Beat It,” they enchant the audience and make grandmas feel young again with their songs.
The girls and boys of the Guitar Pop Orchestra have an extensive repertoire from the world of rock and pop—from Phil Collins to Bill Haley to Status Quo—there’s something for every taste.
The “Heiße Drähte” get by without any vocals during their performances; however, drums, electric guitar, and bass are essential components of the orchestra. Whether the original version features a keyboard soundscape, piano solos, or brass interludes—everything can be imitated with guitars, so that the sounds are instantly recognizable to listeners and the audience. Founded in 1997 by Frank Beierlein, many students from the guitar classes at the Erfurt Music School have performed in this orchestra. With all his heart, Frank Beierlein writes and composes pieces for his protégés, who breathe “life” into the written works and really “bring the house down” on stage. Philipp Lang has been conducting the orchestra since October 2023.
