We’re talking about the clarinetist Theo Jörgensmann, who passed away last year—and his very own improvisational “Theo-logic.”
A concert dedicated to an artistic exploration of the musical work of clarinetist and composer Theo Jörgensmann, who passed away last year in his adopted home of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Brüel)—specifically, his very own improvisational “Theo-Logic.”
The focus is on new interpretations of selected compositions by Jörgensmann’s longtime collaborators: Christopher Dell, Ernst Deuker, Eckard Koltermann, Klaus Kugel, Albrecht Maurer, Christoph Möckel, Nikolaus Neuser, and Christian Ramond—musicians whose own musical styles are now among the most distinctive voices in improvised and contemporary music.
The concert presents several of Jörgensmann’s compositions in updated arrangements—a standalone program that reimagines the compositional material from a contemporary perspective.
