Start of the 2026 season of the "Meeresbrise" concert series. Experience the MV State Police Orchestra live - powerful, genuine and with a lot of heart.

When the days get brighter and squares and parks are transformed into summer concert stages, a special task begins for the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Police Orchestra: "Mission: Summer - Musicians on a Mission". Inspired by the legendary title song from "Mission: Impossible", the orchestra takes its audience on a musical mission full of energy, speed and surprising twists and turns.

Instead of agents, however, trumpets, saxophones and drums are in action here. The open-air program combines pop, jazz and funk to create a sonorous mission that is guaranteed to succeed.

A varied concert program unfolds in the open air, allowing well-known classics to shine in a new, sonorous guise for wind orchestra. You can look forward to swinging evergreens such as "Blue Skies", once unforgottenly interpreted by Ella Fitzgerald, as well as the pure Motown feeling of "Ain't no mountain high enough". Here, lush brass sections meet grooving rhythms - authentic, powerful and rousing.

The varied medleys are a particular highlight, taking the audience right back to the golden age of funk and disco. The energetic Earth, Wind & Fire medley brings the unmistakable sound of the 70s to the stage, while the "Saturday Night Fever" medley with pulsating beats and well-known melodies creates a real disco feeling in the open air.

By now at the latest, no one will be able to sit still.

Fans of German-language music also get their money's worth: a Roger Cicero medley combines swinging big band sounds with modern pop elements and impressively demonstrates how versatile and contemporary a wind orchestra can sound. With a keen sense of style and dynamics, the state police orchestra interprets these arrangements with musical precision and a palpable joy of playing.

Of course, the tongue-in-cheek humor is not to be missed: "Ma Nah Ma Nah" from the legendary Muppet Show provides charming lightness and guarantees a smile from the audience.
Solo highlights from individual instruments set additional accents and underline the high musical quality of the orchestra. Several titles are also accompanied by vocal soloists and the orchestra's own singer, Katrin Lièvre, who lend the program an additional emotional depth.

The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Police Orchestra has stood for musical professionalism, stylistic diversity and proximity to the public for many years. With its summer program, it once again demonstrates how multifaceted wind music can be.

This open-air concert promises the best entertainment for all generations: an evening full of nostalgia, energy and summery joie de vivre.

Experience the MV State Police Orchestra live - powerful, genuine and with a lot of heart.
