On September 13 at 5:00 p.m., we have organized a very special concert for all music lovers. Christian Packmohr on trumpet and Christiane Werbs on the organ. The two instruments will engage in a musical dialogue. The program will feature some of Paul Gerhardt’s most famous songs.
On September 13 at 5:00 p.m., we have organized a very special concert for all music lovers. Christian Packmohr, trumpet; Christiane Werbs, organ. Each speaks for itself—the songs, the trumpet, the organ. In this concert, they engage in a musical dialogue:
The trumpet and organ will perform from the gallery or from the chancel and the gallery—both instruments will present Paul Gerhardt’s timeless hymns in a wide variety of arrangements.
We have selected some of Paul Gerhardt’s best-known hymns, including “Befiehl du deine Wege” and “Geh aus, mein Herz und suche Freud.” Composers from the Baroque, Romantic, and contemporary periods have drawn inspiration from the lyrics and melodies to create wonderful music for organ and for trumpet and organ.
