The Förderverein Dorfkirche Wiendorf e.V. invites you to the Wiendorf church on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
At 5 p.m., artists from the Rostock University of Music and Theatre will perform for us on the organ, clarinet and trumpet, followed by the opening of this year's summer exhibition in the church tower. Photographs of native butterflies will be on display. In addition to the lavish wealth of patterns, shapes and colors of the butterflies, their developmental stages such as eggs, caterpillars and pupae are also captured photographically. The images show the egg in a special magnification and the caterpillar on top as well as the upper and lower sides of the swallowtail (papilio machaon). The pictures convey the joy of the luminosity and variety of butterfly colors and their ornamentation. When we look at them, they take us on a journey of change, of discovering something new. We sense something of the diversity and grandeur of nature and perhaps we also sense a thought of creation that is alive in everything. "God has made the butterfly in its splendor for our joy with its gentle hovering. See the chrysalis as a symbol that he can also transform us into a new life." Food and drink will be provided under the large oak tree in front of the cemetery and there will also be games for the children.
Admission to the event is free. Donations for the renewal of the leaking roof of the Wiendorf church are welcome.
