From October 21 to 24, 2025, a free comic vacation camp for young people from MV will take place under the direction of comic author Maki Shimizu.
This fall break, comic author and illustrator Maki Shimizu will be leading a vacation camp for young comic, writing and drawing enthusiasts from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Participation is completely free of charge!
Are you between 10 and 15 years old, from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and don't have any plans for the fall vacations yet? Then take part in the comic vacation camp in Lubmin. In addition to leisure activities, short excursions and a great time by the sea, the wonderful author Maki Shimizu will introduce us to comic making with workshops and readings. You will come up with stories, learn drawing techniques and create your own little comic.

If you are not yet confident enough to paint something, you are also welcome to register - just write us 1-2 sentences about yourself.
Where does everything take place? The vacation camp takes place at the Lubminer Heimvolkshochschule, right by the Baltic Sea. Here we can stay overnight, get meals and there are rooms for writing and painting. The beach is right on the doorstep.
When does it take place? Arrival is on Tuesday 21.10. Departure is on Friday 24.10. More detailed information will follow after registration.
Who is doing it? Comic author Maki Shimizu from Berlin will lead the vacation camp with daily workshops and creative tasks. In her everyday work, she writes and draws comics and graphic novels and offers workshops for children and young people. She is supported by an educational team in Lubmin.
