Experience the Golden Autumn on a hike with a nature park ranger through the Panschenhagen Forest
Autumn transforms the forests into a colorful mosaic that delights walkers and nature lovers alike. The leaves crackle underfoot with every step and the aromatic scent of damp moss and mushrooms fills the air. It's not just the eye that is spoiled - the senses also take in the special atmosphere that only this time of year can offer. The low sun bathes the landscape in a warm, golden light and highlights the colorful splendor of the different tree species.
Each season is characterized by its own colors and charms. Autumn presents its impressive variety of colors with yellow, red and orange pigments in the leaves, which shine in the mild autumn sunshine. The Mecklenburg Schweiz and Lake Kummerow Nature Park would like to show you this colorful picture on a hike through the Panschenhagen Forest.
The meeting point is on Saturday, October 24 at 2 p.m. in Vielist at the airfield. From here, we will travel a short distance by car before the three-hour hike begins.
During the tour, participants will learn lots of interesting facts about the native tree species, such as oaks, beeches and maples, whose leaves display the typical autumn colors. The ranger explains how the plants and animals in the forest prepare for the colder months ahead. The observation of animals that are active in the fall is particularly impressive: Squirrels eagerly gather supplies for the winter and birds, such as thrushes and tits, are on the lookout for food. With a bit of luck, you may also spot deer or foxes roaming through the rustling leaves.
The hike is aimed at all nature lovers, families and curious beginners who want to enjoy the magic of the autumn forest. In addition to the splendid colors and exciting animal observations, you can also experience the peace and quiet of the forest, which invites you to relax and contemplate. A short break with hot drinks and small snacks (please bring your own backpack) offers the opportunity to exchange ideas and enjoy the experiences together.
Please remember to wear weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes, as the paths can sometimes be damp or slippery. The event will only take place in suitable weather; in the event of heavy rain or storms, the hike will be canceled. In any case, the autumnal forests of Mecklenburg Switzerland offer an impressive nature experience that will be remembered for a long time.
