Bach Meets the Present: An Afternoon of Music, Conversation, and Art.
FINISSAGE & CONCERT PROJECT – NOT JUST BACH
Closing of the Gerd Frick & Katharina Vogt exhibition
2:00 p.m. · Closing event with guided tour Matthias Schilling—a fellow artist and lecturer—will provide an expert guided tour of the exhibition and offer insights into the works of Gerd Frick and Katharina Vogt. This will be the last day the exhibition is open to the public.
4:00 p.m. · Concert Talk “Not Just Bach” The event concludes with an unusual concert project: the starting point is Bach’s Sonata No. 2 in A minor for solo violin—but it doesn’t stop there. Five composers have drawn inspiration from this work and developed their own compositions. In the concert-talk, connections, ideas, and artistic approaches will be explored and explained: a panorama of diverse styles that demonstrates how vibrant Bach’s influence remains to this day.
Featuring: Dr. Julia Deppert Lang, Malte Hübner, Prof. Dr. Dr. Benjamin Lang, Prof. Peter Manfred Wolf, and Prof. Dr. Birger Petersen.
