On September 12, our circus tent will be transformed into a movie theater— “Thilda & the Best Band in the World” is a wild story about big dreams, off-key notes, unusual instruments, and a chaotic band that risks everything on a crazy musical road trip to make it to the big rock contest on time.
Grim and Aksel are best friends and dream of making music history as the best band in the world. When their band, “Los Bando Immortale,” is invited to the Norwegian Rock Championship, their goal is suddenly within reach.
Unfortunately, however, they have two problems: Aksel can’t sing, and they’re missing a bassist to make a real band. When only Thilda shows up at the audition with her old-fashioned cello, their big dream seems to be shattered for good. But the defiant Thilda proves that you can rock out just fine with a cello. With the help of the cool rally driver Martin, they set off together in a stolen camper on a crazy, musical road trip across Norway.
Little do the boys know that Thilda has a secret that could jeopardize their entire venture. Before long, the police and their parents are hot on the young musicians’ heels.
Will the four of them make it to the long-awaited band contest in time? The clock is ticking!
